Our Step-by-Step Guide to Telecommuting

To help encourage business productivity, we are providing helpful telecommuting tips for our customers. These tips will help your team during the Shelter in Place order.

How to Download Accession Communicator for Your Desktop or Cell Phone

To download Accession Communicator for your desktop, you will first need to log into your CommPortal account. Once you are logged in, click on “Downloads” which is located under the “Support” section on the bottom right-hand side of the homepage. From here, select “View Apps” and select Accession on the left-hand side of the window. Then you will select your operating system and download the software installer which will provide step-by-step information on how to complete your download.

To download Accession Communicator for your smartphone or tablet, search “Accession Communicator” in the App Store or Google Play Store depending on your operating system. Accession Communicator will download as any standard app.

How to Start a Meeting Using the Accession Communicator App

There are multiple methods to create a meeting depending on what device you are using. If you are using a desktop or laptop, you can create a meeting by doing the following:

Using Accession Communicator, click on the “Meetings” tab at the very top of the application. This will open a drop-down list of options. Select “Create a Meeting” 

Once you create a meeting, a new screen will appear and allow you to select the users in your contact list who you’d like to invite. You can also select users who are not in your contacts by selecting “Invite Others” and selecting to send an email invite or copy the meeting link manually. 

Your meeting ID number and an access link will be sent to the recipient immediately. 

How to Start a Web Meeting or Conference Call Using CommPortal 

Starting from the CommPortal homepage, click on the “Start” button on the top right-hand side of the page which will open the options in a drop-down menu. Then select “Start Meeting” which will open the Accession Meeting launcher in a new tab. Using the “Invite” button at the bottom of the window, you can invite users to the meeting. 

How to Set Up Call Forwarding 

Using your CommPortal account, select “My Mobile” which will allow you to input a secondary phone number to have your calls forwarded to.

How to Make Calls Using Your Computer

Using your CommPortal account, select “Start” on the upper right-hand corner. Select “Make Call” from the drop-down menu and a dialer will appear which will allow you to select a contact from your directory or enter a phone number manually. 

How to Access Faxes and Messages Online 

Using your CommPortal account, select “Messages and Calls” at the top of the page. Here you can access your messages, faxes, calls, and more.
